Blast from the past! I just thought about this 2 nights ago whilst having a conversation with G about it and I haven’t seen these around for ages. I thought I’d Google it to see if they were still being sold as I’d love to have one of these just for nostalgia’s sake. As it turns out, they’re now being sold for about £200 a piece. My all-time favourite was Western Bar which is shown in the bottom picture. Time to start looking on e-Bay.. I hope it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg!

Dearly Departed

It’s always a blow to the heart when a loved one or friend passes on. Nothing ever prepares you for it and we probably never think about it too.

When we were younger, I used to think that lifetimes were close to infinite and my friends and I would never grow old, let alone die. If only that were true.

Someone once said that we shouldn’t feel sorry for the people that passed on but instead, for the loved ones that were left behind. Perhaps it is better to think that “we’ll all meet up again when our time is done”.

I’m really sorry for your loss G and my condolences goes out to her loved ones.

Brand New Blog, Same Old Me

After a very long sabbatical, I’m back to talk about stuff that’s going on in my life. Just a bit about this blog before we move on… both the name fortunate son and the title up around the bend are songs by the legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival aka CCR.

I chose them because they very accurately describe me and also the stage of life I am currently at. More importantly, I couldn’t be bothered to come up with my own username and title.

For my friends and people who know me, welcome back. For those who just surfed in, I am a 30 year old male working and trying to stay alive in Singapore. This is my story and welcome to my blog.
